MIICT is a Research and Technology Organisation (RTO). At MIICT, we believe in the power of Innovation, Communications, and Technology to improve our daily lives and bridge the digital divide. Our targeted approach is focused on helping the vulnerable, including the elderly, those without access to basic needs, and those struggling with poverty or unemployment due to inability to access technology or inadequate know-how, as well as on making society as broadly defined better off through the advancement and deployment of technology.
Our mission is to undertake research with a view to ameliorating people’s lives and to promote participation in learning and research activities that address societal problems and support individuals with innovative ideas to develop their scientific knowledge and concepts. By doing so, we invariably aim to improve socially-beneficial technologies and make a real impact in people’s lives.
We believe that innovation, communication, and technology are the key drivers of progress and are committed to working with individuals, organizations, and communities to unlock their full potential. Electronic communications technologies are also a key focus for us, as they play a vital role in connecting people, businesses and organizations while being key enablers in many different sectors of society and the economy. We have taken electronic communications to heart and are dedicated to exploring new and emerging technologies that can help bridge the digital divide, promote greater social inclusion and improve the quality of life for people everywhere. Technology
Technology is both the backbone and the main enabler of everything we do at the MIICT. We believe that by harnessing the latest technologies, we can create powerful solutions that can address the most pressing challenges of our time. Our team of experts are dedicated to researching new technologies, developing cutting-edge applications, and providing community training on these technologies in new, innovative and immersive ways. We are constantly exploring new ways to utilise technology to help achieve our social objectives. Whether it is through access to digital resources, literacy programs, or leveraging data to create better solutions, technology is a key tool for making a real difference in people’s lives.

The Mediterranean Institute of Innovation, Communications and Technology (MIICT) is an independent, non-profit, research-oriented organisation.
Our main objectives are to:
- Compete for and obtain funding for research for its members to the effect of promoting participation in learning and research programmes from the various EU funding programmes available.
- Study how Innovation, Communications and Technology are impacting the daily lives of those who use them and undertake research as to how the benefits can be partaken of widely and the disadvantages mitigated and managed.
- Raise public awareness about the socio-economic importance of innovation, information communications technologies and broader technological development and adoption.
- Encourage the advancement of scientific knowledge through innovative cutting-edge processes, greater and more prolific use of ICTs and other enabling technologies.
- Encourage the advancement of empirical application of innovation and scientific advancement with a view to ameliorating employee productivity, citizen quality of life and economic development.
- Instigate the development of the Mediterranean region and its transformation into a global leader in ICT, innovation and welfare-augmenting technologies.
- Promote the integration of technologies and cross-fertilisation of ideas.
- Study how the Mediterranean region can retain the benefits of innovations that the region gives rise to and to fully capitalise on innovations made elsewhere.
The MIICT aims to be an inclusive Institute. In this regard, we specifically want to ascertain that individuals with hearing, visual and mobility impairments are not excluded from the MIICT. Hearing loss, colour blindness, blindness or mobility debilities should not limit people from partaking in research and its fruits.
